Heifer International and Living Waters for the World

Heifer International: Ending poverty begins with agriculture: Heifer International is on a mission to end hunger and poverty in a sustainable way by supporting and investing alongside local farmers and their communities. We work to end hunger and poverty in partnership with the communities we serve. Our programs support entrepreneurs around the world, creating lasting change from the ground up.

It begins with a seed investment of livestock or agriculture, followed by mentorship to help project participants build a business, and ultimately to gain access to supply chains and markets.

These families are able to earn a living income and continuously lift up their communities as they train the next generation of leaders.

By supporting and training the world's farmers, ranchers, and female business owners, we're investing in a new breed of success.

Living Waters for the World: Living Waters for the World empowers everyday people to change lives through clean water.  The organization trains, equips and supports volunteers in forming global, clean-water mission partnerships.  These partnerships empower international communities to install and sustain water purification systems and health education programs that transform lives.

The Mission of the Month for August is

Habitat For Humanity

 Please keep this ministry in your prayers.

Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit Christian housing ministry which seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world.  To accomplish these goals, they invite people of all backgrounds, races and religions to build houses together in partnership with families in need.  Habitat for Humanity was founded in 1976 by Millard Fuller, along with his wife, Linda.  Today, they have built over 400,000 houses around the world, providing more than 2 million people with safe, decent, affordable shelter.  For more information you can visit www.habitat.org.  Our congregation has been involved in supporting Habitat since it began in Salem County.
